Congratulations on the upcoming wedding and celebration! The first outdoor wedding held at Friendly Crossways was in July 1947, the same year that Friendly Crossways was converted from a working farm to a rustic retreat center. In 1997, that couple celebrated their 50th anniversary with a big family reunion back here at Friendly Crossways.
Our facility is wonderfuly suited for the couple looking for a relaxed, country atmosphere with plenty of space for family members to reunite and for guests to meet, mingle and make your wedding ceremony and celebration a memorable one.
Here are the things you need to know about holding a wedding ceremony and/or reception here to make things easier for bride, groom, and bride's mom.
You can reserve exclusive use of our 15-acre property for up to 48 hours for a flat fee. This gives you access to the grounds and organic gardens, dining hall, meeting space, use of kitchen for non-reception meals, and accommodations for up to 40 people. Additional overnight guests can be accommodated. Here's the link to the wedding weekend registration form.
We can accommodate up to 65 guests overnight, a maximum of 72 guests can be served indoors for a sitdown meal, and up to 120 guests outdoors.

For outdoor weddings and receptions, a beautiful, romantic tent (plus table, chairs and dance floor) can be provided for an additional cost. Two companies that we work with are excellent at meeting these needs: Chris at Special Events of New England and the folks at Sunshine Tent and Party.

We also provide on-site catering that will save you time and money and cut down on aggravation. We can provide fresh, beautifully presented food from champagne brunches to buffets to bbqs for all eating preferences from omnivores to vegetarians to vegans. If you prefer, your friends and family may use our commercial kitchen to prepare the reception food for you, for an additional facilities fee.
You may also provide your own outside caterer if you wish. There may be additional facility fees associated with an outside caterer depending on their needs.
We have an in-house wedding videographer (former clients include National Geographic, BBC, PBS, CBS, A&E etc.) For more information link to Keith Turner. Local wedding photographers include Charles Kronauer and candids by MomentsKept.
Harvard is a dry town, but you can have beer, wine and champagne here (no hard liquor) if 1) you or a family member or friend--not a caterer--provides the drinks and 2) you purchase an on-line wedding insurance policy.
