Directions FROM Logan International Airport (BOS):
Exit from Airport toward Boston. Take Ted Williams Tunnel (pay toll of $4.00), then follow directions to get on to Rte. 90 WEST, pay two $1 tolls, and exit at Rte. 95 NORTH. Take 95 North to Exit 29B and take Rte. 2 WEST toward Concord. When you get to round-about/rotary in Concord DO NOT TAKE RTE 2A . Go 1/2-way on the rotary to continue on Rte. 2. The exit numbers will start up again a mile after the rotary. Take Exit 39 (Taylor St., Littleton/Boxboro exit). Turn left onto Taylor St., go just under a mile then turn left onto Whitcomb Ave., (there's a VFW club at the corner of Taylor and Whitcomb Ave.). Whitcomb Ave. in Littleton will turn into Littleton County Rd. in Harvard after about 1.7 miles. Keep going! IGNORE THE HOUSE NUMBERS! Hostel is located another 1/3 mile down the road at 247 Littleton County Rd. on the right.

Other ways to get to/from Logan Airport
From the airport go to the Silver Line Subway. You may have to take a free bus shuttle to get to the subway. Take the Silver Line to South Station. At South Station transfer to the Red Line Subway that goes to Alewife Station. Get off at Porter Square and take the train from Porter Square to Littleton/495. The number to call for pick up (during our check-in hours of 5 pm to 10 PM) at the Littleton/495 stop is 978 456 3649. Perhaps this is not so convenient if you have a lot of luggage.
Alternatively, you can take a taxi from the airport to North Station and catch the FitchburtgActon Line train directly from there to Littleton/495 stop. Taxi to North Station costs about $12.
Airport shuttle services: Acton Transportation (978) 430-7067 or 781 690-1749. Ask for Bob. The cost is about $75 and includes the tunnel tolls. Littletown Limo 866-978-9789. Ask for Jerry. The rate for a single person starts at $59. Taxis from Logan are supposed to charge a flate rate plus tunnel tolls. In 2006 the rate was $8250.
There a $7 30-minute LOGAN EXPRESS bus trip to Framingham, and then somebody from your group can pick you up there (easy 45 minute drive).
Other Airports in vicinity: Warwick (Providence RI) is an easily accessible one hour &15 minutes away on highway 93 and 495. Manchester NH (55 minutes away) and Hartford CT (1.5 hr) are also smaller, easily accessible airports to Friendly Crossways with cheaper rental cars than in Boston.

Directions from points South or West: Find your way to Rte 90, which is the Mass Pike, and go East toward Boston. Take I-495 NORTH and follow directions as above.
We provide free pick-up during our check-in hours (5 pm to 10 pm) at the Littleton/495 train stop which is about three miles from hostel. 24 hours notice by phone or email helps us a lot. The train takes an hour from Boston. For all train Boston train and subway schedules, please see the MBTA page. There are no taxis from the Littleton stop.
From South Station take Red line subway to Porter Square in Cambridge and walk upstairs to catch the Commuter Train ten minutes after it leaves North Station.
From North Station, take the Fitchburg/Acton line. Make sure the train goes all the way Littleton/.495 (some of the trains end in Acton, before the Littleton stop.)
Foreign guests can buy discounted AMTRAK passes. Order Rail Passes for the northeastern region of USA from Mac America Travel Now! Amtrak takes you to South Station.
To walk 3 miles from station: cross over the railroad tracks and under the overpass and walk up Foster St. until it empties into Taylor St. Turn right, walk down hill (crossing over I-495 and Rt. 2) until you reach Porter Rd. on left. Go up Porter Rd. until the stop sign, then turn left and keep on walking.
By Bike: See Rubel for their great bike maps. Or, hitch a ride with your bike on the commuter rail...no pass necessary, but conductors will not allow you to board during peak hours.
Friendly Crossways is way out in the country! No street lights (we may be kind of difficult to find if you're coming after dark) mean lots of great star gazing visibility. Do your shopping before hand or be prepared for a 4 - 6 mile (round trip) commute to buy food.
